These fun, vibrant paintings will brighten your life and home and will be a lifelong treasure. Sherry Kendall, the founding artist of Wagging Tail Portraits, has mastered the art of  expression in her oil paintings as she captures your pet’s personality with paint.

Whether you are commissioning a painting for yourself, or as a gift for a special friend, all paintings begin with a discussion and a preliminary quote.

One of the most important elements in a good painting is a set of quality reference photos. You can find more information about supplying good photos on our FAQ page.

Pet Portraits Sizes

Choose from a variety of sizes ranging from 8 x10" to 48 x 48 showpiece". Larger or custom sizes are available upon request. The canvases have deep gallery edges and the painting flows over the edges, so framing is optional, but not required. The contemporary look of the color against the wall enhances the presentation of the painting upon the wall.

10" x 10" painting
A great little sentimental statement. Place in your library upon a bookshelf, or on your home desk. (One pet only on this size canvas)

10" x 10" Paintings
A great way to display a grouping of pets.

If you have multiple pets, this size looks great as a grouping on the wall. Works good in any combination of groupings. A row of 2, 3 or 4 side by side, or a square grouping of 4. You can show a pet's stages of life as he/she grows, or an on going collection of those furry members of the family through the years. (One pet per canvas.)

12" x 12" painting
The most popular small size. This size can stand alone on the wall or placed upon a small easel. (One pet only on this size canvas)

11" x 14" painting
A good size for pets that have long ears, or even horses. Horizontal or vertical. (Two pets are also an option for this size canvas)

16" x 16" painting
My favorite size to paint. The dogs are larger than life. This makes quite the statement on the wall. (One pet only for this size canvas)

16" x 20" painting
This is a wonderful size if you want to show some of your pet's body, usually painted vertically.  This is by far, my most popular size for featuring two furry friends horizontally.   (Two pets are an option for this size canvas.)

18" x 24" painting
A great size to for a foyer. Horizontal or vertical. (Two pets are an option for this size canvas)
